The Knot Rocked St. Louis At The Barnett On Washington

On April 17th, The Knot invaded the Barnett on Washington for their annual Midwest mixer. The event was coordinated by Lacy Branch and featured a lovely display of decor and design.

St. Louis has always been a hotspot for beautiful Midwest weddings, but the Barnett on Washington showed once again why it is such a beautiful venue to behold. Lacy, with the help of The Knot team and partners, were able to transform the Barnett’s traditional, elegant, Spainish-mission style decor into something totally it’s own.

Our weekly Chameleon Club meeting on January 30th will feature unique entertainment. The evening will feature a live performance called The Last Vinyl-The Prelude to Sleep Walker. It has been described as an episodic indie pop musical that blends together theatre, dance, music, and a story that you will never forget. Imagine it as a live version of Breaking Bad with every episode leaving you with a cliffhanger. This show on January 30th is episode #1, and we could not be more excited to have it at our venue. The show starts  at 7pm, starting with a modern burlesque show, then from 7:30-8:30pm the Last Vinyl will premier, and from 9-10pm Laren Loveless and The St. Louis  Legends will perform music inspired by the performances.

There will be seating especially designed for those that are interested in viewing the show, as well as our normal Chameleon Club arrangements. We hope that you will take this opportunity to enjoy these local artistic performances on January 30th, and share it with the live-performance lovers in your life. Warm up your December evening:

Live performances by Fringe regulars LEVERAGE DANCE THEATER (formerly A-TREK) with the hot hot tunes of BROTHERS LAZAROFF.

LEVERAGE DANCE THEATER specializes in site-specific modern dance. One of the most talked about dance companies in St Louis, Leverage has produced their own work and been featured in such prestigious performances as NEW DANCE HORIZONS and SPRING TO DANCE. They have performed across the country, from coast to coast.

BROTHERS LAZAROFF will be fresh off the heals of their popular Hannukah Hullabaloo. Brothers Lazaroff is a band that melds genres, and they might share brainwaves too. The fraternal front men are a staple of the local music scene and draw crowds all over town. The brothers are equipped with earnest songwriting and an earthy sound peppered with jazz-inspired riffs and fuzzy solos. The group has developed an intuition and familiarity that allows each player to create something unexpected.

LEVERAGE and BROTHERS LAZ will collaborate for the first time in this one-of-a-kind, one night only show at the beautiful BARNETT ON WASHINGTON. The Barnett is magical to say the least. This is a rare, first opportunity to see the otherwise exclusive space.

Doors at 7pm. Music at 8pm.

After $4 Million Dollar Renovation, Elegant St. Louis Venue Now Open

St. Louis, MO – The Barnett on Washington, a unique new St. Louis event venue, recently opened its doors after undergoing a multi-million dollar renovation. The building, located at 3207 Washington Avenue, has a long and storied history, but was only recently renovated and restored to its original luster and elegance. September 12th marked the grand opening of the venue. The Barnett on Washington looks to play host to a bevy of engagements in the area including corporate events, local weddings, receptions, business luncheons, and other area occurrences in search of a rich and vibrant experience.

Constructed in 1921, the Barnett on Washington was originally built to be the home of Central States Life Insurance Company, and was designed by preeminent local architect, Tom P. Barnett. The project of renovating the building was undertaken by local business owners Drew Acree and Jeffery Kelley. “We were in love with the architecture of the building, and saw an opportunity to do something special with it”, said Kelley. The elegant design of the building features 45 foot tall ceilings, a spacious square balcony, and a double stair case that wraps around the front entrance. “We’d like to establish the Barnett on Washington as the premier event space for corporate and private events”, spoke Acree. The event space currently accommodates approximately 200 seated individuals, and can host up to 455 standing attendees in a cocktail-style event.

The new venue is more than just a reinvigorated and redesigned new space. “Currently, our primary business, Chameleon Integrated Services, resides on the 2nd floor. We saw an opportunity to start a new business leveraging the breathtaking event space, and the rest is history”, said Acree. Kelley adds, “It was never about trying to make money, it was about doing something the right way. The Barnett on Washington adds to their rich setting by including a lineup of other refined qualities including; valet parking, wi-fi, a state-of-art sound system, and The Barnett Room – a fine cigar smoking lounge.

The Barnett on Washington is currently available to all organizations or private parties interested in securing the venue for their upcoming events, but if you’re interested in checking out the building for yourself there is another option. “Originally, the only way to experience the Barnett was to host or attend a private or corporate event here. But, we wanted to find a way to open it to the public. That way, people could come in have a drink and enjoy the environment. So, we decided to do something different – we created Chameleon Club”, stated Kelley. Chameleon Club is a weekly club created for networking, meetings, relaxation, or the simple enjoyment of a cocktail or fine cigar. The club is currently accepting new members, and is open Thursday evenings from 5:00PM to 12:00AM.

The Barnett on Washington is still available for new bookings in 2014. For more information about The Barnett on Washington or Chameleon Club visit their blog at http://www.barnettonwashblog.com or contact Angie Furlow at 1-618-917-5883, or at afurlow@barnettonwashington.com.
